Dave and Anni joined forces in 1985, after spending many years around the folk club scene, in which time they featured on several albums made by other performers.

Anni has developed a specialist repertoire of songs originating from her native North East, and Dave has been writing songs in traditional vein since 1982 many of these are widely sung and have become part of the general song repertoire of singers all over the world.

“Old Zeb,” “Song for Gale,” “Song for The Bowdoin,” John,” “ Get Her Into Shore,” “Selling The Isabel”—- just a few examples of the extensive offering of some of the best contemporary ballads from New England, along its shores, and beyond you will find in modern folk music today.  His songs have been performed and recorded by many respected artists and audiences around the world—compositions respectful of tradition, poignant stories in song, honest, highly singable… always memorable.

Born in Boston, Larry now calls both London, England, and Essex, Connecticut home. He worked for many years on traditional vessels in Maine, sailed on and helped restore the Schooner, Bowdoin, and has released four CDs through Folk Legacy Records, “ Worth All The Telling,” “Songs For An August Moon,” “Furthermore,” and his newest, “True Enough.” No Depression, the Folk Roots Magazine has called Larry’s music “some of the most finely crafted songs in folk music today.” He is the recipient of multiple best folk CDs of the year by leading folk radio programs across the US and Europe, and tours regularly in Europe as well as across the US. A multi-instrumentalist and fine singer, Larry is very pleased to share his fine music with us.

The Main Man behind the Berkhamsted Campaign for Real Music, and the Berkhamsted Ukulele Random Players (BURP), Hamish remains a talented and engaging solo performer, singing a broad repertoire of the songs that have captured his attention, from  Elvis Costello to Trad Ballads.

Free Entry on Singaround and Theme Nights – Arrive from 7:30pm for the chance buy a drink and chat. There is now food available again at The Castle on Monday nights, serving until 21:30

Led by a compere, everyone gets the chance to play or sing.  All are welcome to perform or simply sit back and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. Raffle tickets are sold for a bottle of fine wine.
